"The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is a private, non-profit society of distinguished scholars. Established by an Act of Congress, signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, the NAS is charged with providing independent, objective advice to the nation on matters related to science and technology."

The information on this website is drawn from the fourth edition of EPA's Climate Change Indicators in the United States, published in 2016. This report presents 37 indicators, each describing trends related to the causes and effects of climate change.

New Jersey is working to address and mitigate the impacts of climate change. So far, its efforts have been successful, with New Jersey’s attainment of the 2020 greenhouse gas reduction goal years ahead of schedule. New Jersey is now looking ahead to its 2050 Goal and is accelerating its transition to a low carbon economy through reducing its carbon pollution, expanding its clean energy infrastructure and building resilient communities.
