The majority of the library's e-book subscriptions and purchases can be found using the UCNJ Library catalog. Below are links to the specific e-book collections.
Resources to which the Library subscribes may be used as OER…
*IMPORTANT TO NOTE* Licensed e-books, online magazines & journals, streaming media, and other online resources available through the UCNJ Libraries subscriptions are not considered open educational resources. These resources, while free to use by UCNJ students, faculty and staff do not contain the copyright permissions which allow for customization, re-use, remix, or redistribution in the same way open educational resources do. Although library online resources are not "open", they are resources you can make available at zero cost to your students.
To present concepts use eReference, link to e-book chapters (EBSCO, Proquest eBook Central, etc.), and streaming videos.
The librarians will be happy to assist in finding electronic resources to add to your online or hybrid course. They will create an individual course guide, similar to the research guides for students that will group all of the supplemental materials in one link.
This OER Libguide (Links to an external site) will help to jump-start your professional search for suitable open educational resources if you wish to create a customized bank of digital textbook and supplemental resources for a specific course, or if you wish to adapt an existing OER course.
