NJ Code of Regulations

New Jersey Administrative Code  The N.J.A.C. contains those laws passed by a recent session of the New Jersey legislature but not yet bound into a permanent volume. Print volumes available in MacKay Library's Paralegal section.

To search for New Jersey Administrative Codes online use the search box on the left. Link your search term with AND New Jersey. For example if you type in cellphones you would get over 7000 results, but if you type in cellphones AND New Jersey you get only the results for New Jersey or about 650 results.

New Jersey Register  This link covers the period from 1969-1995. New Jersey Register is a semi-monthly publication that updates the New Jersey Administrative Code.  It publishes all new rules and proposed rules of New Jersey departments and agencies. 

For online access the New Jersey Register from 1996 to the present go to the Library’s database Nexis Uni. Type in New Jersey Register in the search box. You should see Sources, NJ- New Jersey Register. Click on NJ-New Jersey Register to select it (it should appear below the search box with an X to the right of the source) Then type in your search words. Your search will only retrieve results from the New Jersey Register. Alternatively, you can use search terms and link them with AND New Jersey Register.

The C.F.R. contains the general and permanent rules and regulations of the Executive Department and agencies of the Federal Government. 

Available online in the Library database Nexis Uni. Type in CFR in the search box. Then select Source--CFR--Code of Federal Regulations in the list below the search box. Now you are ready to search the Code of Federal Regulations by typing in your search terms.

Federal Register

The Federal Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and  notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and  other presidential documents.  

For online access the Federal Register go to the Library’s database Nexis Uni. Type in Federal Register in the search box. You should see Sources, Federal Register. Click on Federal Register to select it (it should appear below the search box with an X to the right of the source) Then type in your search words. Your search will only retrieve results from the Federal Register. Alternatively, you can use search terms and link them with AND Federal Register. For example: cellphones AND Federal Register

United States Code

United States Code Service is available in the Library's Nexis Uni database. To search for the USCS in Nexis Uni, type in USCS in the search box and select Source--USCS--United States Code Service--Titles 1 through 54. Then type in your search terms in the search box.
